Download and install MAKID for your platform:

Learn the workflow

Some new desktop users receive a guided example project before import. The walkthrough uses real MAKID controls to show how to:

1. Open an Ableton session workspace from the Session column
2. Play MAKID’s session render
3. Play a bundled bounce from the Play Bounce column
4. Right-click and expand the project to see every session and bounce
5. Open empty project notes from the Notes column and attach the example export with /bounce
6. Add a playback position and thought with /timestamp

MAKID treats one folder as one project. The .als file powers the session workspace, and audio exports in the same folder become project bounces.

Choose Skip walkthrough and import now at any time to use the standard import flow. The example remains in your library afterward and can be archived or deleted from its right-click menu.

Import your projects

1. Select Import my projects after the example, Skip walkthrough and import now, or + Add Projects
2. Select the dashed import area to open the folder dialog
3. Select folders that contain Ableton Live projects
4. MAKID scans nested folders and adds every project it finds
5. Close the import dialog and watch your projects load

Moving to a New Computer

Copy your complete Ableton project folders to the new computer, including each hidden .MAKID folder, then import the projects into MAKID. MAKID rebuilds its local database from the recovery data stored with your projects, including notes, comments, tags, collections, ordering, and stable session and bounce references.

Import several project folders to improve the chance that MAKID finds the newest workspace recovery file. If your copy tool excludes hidden files, configure it to include .MAKID.
