The Project Table

Basic Navigation

Search: Use the search bar to find projects by name, notes, tags, or any other data. Press Cmd/Ctrl + F to quickly focus the search.

Sorting: Click any column header to sort. Click again to reverse the sort order.

Multi-Selection Techniques

Cmd/Ctrl + Click: Select multiple individual projects by holding Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) and clicking each project.

Shift + Click: Select a range of projects by clicking one project, then holding Shift and clicking another. All projects between will be selected.

Shift + Arrow Keys: Use Shift + Up/Down arrows to extend your selection one project at a time.

Select All: Cmd/Ctrl + A selects all visible projects (respects current filters).

Clear Selection/Filters: Click the MAKID logo in the navbar—if you have rows selected it clears the selection; if not, it clears filters. Double-click the logo closes open sidebars.

Dragging Projects

Single Project: Click and drag any project row to move it to a collection in the sidebar.

Multiple Projects: Select multiple projects, then drag from any selected row to move them all together.

Audio Playback

Play from Table: Click the play button in any project row to start playback.

Drag Audio Files: Drag directly from a project’s play button to drag the associated bounce file to anywhere on your system (Finder, desktop, other apps, etc.).

Queue Management: Songs automatically queue up. Use the audio player controls to manage playback order.

Project Progress & Ratings

Progress Tracking: Click the Progress column dropdown to set your project’s status:

  • Ideation → In Progress → Needs Revision → Final Touches → Completed → Released → Abandoned

Tier Ratings: Rate your projects with letter grades (S, A, B, C, D, F) using the Tier column dropdown.

Right-Click Menus

Right-click any project for quick actions. Including:

  • Play: Start audio playback
  • Details: Open detailed project view
  • Open in Ableton: Launch the project in Ableton Live
  • Show in Folder: Open the project folder in your file manager
  • Randomize Name: To select a random name for your project
  • Share Bounce: To immediately create a sharable link to your bounce via MAKID Cloud
  • Copy Project Path: Copy the file path to clipboard
  • Archive: Remove from main table (can be restored later)

Pinning & Reordering

  • Pin Projects: Pinned rows stay at the top of the table (pin icon in the # column).
  • Reorder Within Collections: Drag rows to reorder when a collection is selected and no column sorting is applied. Reordering sets the display order for that collection only.
  • Nested Collections: Drag a collection onto another in the sidebar to nest it (unlimited depth). Drag projects into any level of the hierarchy.

Bulk Edit Sidebar

Accessible from the action bar (always available) and applies to your current selection:

  • Progress: Set status for all selected.
  • Tier: Apply a letter grade in one shot.
  • Genre/Status/Tags: Apply tags across the selection.
  • Collections: Add/remove the selection from collections at once.

Changes apply immediately to all selected rows; deselect to exit bulk edits.

Table Configuration

  • Show/Hide Columns: Use the table configuration sidebar to toggle visibility.
  • Reorder Columns: Drag column names within the sidebar; use drop targets between items.
  • Per-Column Settings: Some columns (e.g., Name, Tags, Tempo) have extra config via the wrench icon.
  • Sorting & Reordering: Row reordering only works when a collection is selected and no column sorting is active. Clear sorts by clicking sorted headers until sorting is removed.

Row Icons & Warnings

  • Pin Icon: Project is pinned to the top of the table.
  • Warning Icon: MAKID can’t find the project folder at its saved path. Re-associate by re-importing the folder (or archive/delete if it was intentionally removed).
